These words were what I entered into Google Search: Statistics about sedentary lifestyles. It was pretty scary and eye-opening! It was amazing! Is it possible that sedentary living could be contributing to acid reflux’s rise in our society?

- Sedentary lifestyles are more common in women than in men.

It’s shocking! It was only the infographic!
I’m now 57 and have realized that sitting has been detrimental to my digestive system. I tried antacids and acid-blockers and acid-reducers, and proton inhibitor medications when I was ready to make a change. Although it worked for a while, my symptoms always returned. This time it was with a vengeance! Could my sedentary lifestyle be contributing to my acid reflux?
Now, fast forward >>> to the last several days. It seems like I have acid reflux again. I went back through my naturopathic doctor’s treatment plan and supplementation recommendations to see where I had gone wrong. Check vitamins and supplements. Water, okay, I’ll add one or two bottles. Greek yogurt is a horrible thing, but I will buy more to add flaxseed. So on and so forth.
The long hours spent sitting on my rump was what had not changed. I’m seated, no matter the weather, and for hours. Although my mind is always active, my body is still not. In many ways, I’m the poster child of the article mentioned above.
